Luke Garrard is a 39-year old football coach serving as the First Team Manager of Boreham Wood Football Club since . He has previously been associated with Northwood during his career.
Built a long and steady career at Boreham Wood, serving the club in various roles over 18 years. Starting as a player, he progressed to Academy coach, Assistant Manager, and, in October 2015, First Team Manager and Head of Football. Over his nine-year tenure as manager, he oversaw some of the most consistent periods in the club’s history, guiding them to the National League play-offs in 2018, 2020, and 2023. His leadership also took Boreham Wood to Wembley for the first time in 2018, though promotion eluded the team on each play-off attempt.
Garrard also played a central role in some of the club’s most notable FA Cup campaigns. In 2021, Boreham Wood reached the competition’s third round for the first time, hosting Millwall. The following season saw further progress, with the team advancing to the fifth round after victories against AFC Wimbledon and AFC Bournemouth, the latter being a significant result against a Championship leader. They eventually faced Premier League side Everton, marking a high point in the club’s history. In 2023, Boreham Wood secured their third consecutive third-round appearance, underscoring Garrard’s ability to guide the team through competitive cup runs.
Following a brief departure in 2023, Garrard returned to manage Boreham Wood as they aimed to regain form after a difficult start to the season.
