Gary ‘Setch’ Setchell is a football coach serving as the Manager of Corby Town Football Club since . He has previously been associated with AFC Rushden & Diamonds, AFC Sudbury, Bedford Town, Kettering Town, King's Lynn Town and Tamworth during his career.
Began his managerial career with Wisbech Town in 2008 before moving to King’s Lynn Town in 2010. During his tenure at King’s Lynn, he achieved notable success, leading the club from the United Counties League to the Northern Premier League within three seasons. His time there included two consecutive runners-up finishes in the UCL and a title-winning campaign in the Northern Premier League Division One South at the first attempt. Under Setchell’s guidance, the club also reached their best runs in both the FA Vase and FA Trophy, narrowly missing out on a Wembley final after a semi-final defeat to Coalville Town.
After 384 games at King’s Lynn, Setchell returned to Wisbech Town in 2017 before taking over at Bedford Town in 2020 when the club was struggling at the bottom of the Southern Football League Central Division. Despite the challenges of a COVID-interrupted first season, Setchell led Bedford to the league title in his first full campaign. However, he departed the role in November 2022.
As a player, Setchell had a successful career in the local football scene, including stints with Rushden and Diamonds, where he was part of the team that won the Nationwide Conference and the Third Division, and Kettering Town.
