Histon Football Club, nicknamed “The Stutes,” is a non-league football club based in Impington, Cambridgeshire.
Established in 1904, they currently compete in the uhlsport UCL Premier Division South, which is part of the ninth tier of English football. The team calls Bridge Road their home ground.
Founded in 1904, Histon Football Club began in the Cambridgeshire Football League, moving to its current ground in 1926. The club ascended through various leagues, joining the Eastern Counties League (ECL) in 1965. Key moments included winning the ECL in 1989-90, and selling players to top clubs, aiding financial stability. Under Steve Fallon’s management, Histon won the ECL Premier Division in 1999-2000, leading to successive promotions up to the Conference National by 2007.
Histon’s peak came in the 2008-09 season, finishing third in the Conference National and reaching the FA Cup third round. However, financial struggles led to a decline, with numerous relegations and managerial changes. A revival under Lance Key saw them win the Eastern Counties League in 2018-19, but further relegations followed. As of 2022/23, Histon competes in the United Counties League Premier Division South, with a focus on community engagement and youth development, under the reinstated chairmanship of John Hall.
