Frome is a picturesque market town in Somerset, located at the eastern end of the Mendip Hills on the River Frome. It is near Bath and Warminster and is commutable to Bristol and Salisbury. Known for its historic buildings, independent shops, and vibrant community, Frome attracts many tourists from both the UK and abroad. The town’s population is estimated at over 33,000 and continues to grow with new housing developments. Frome has also been recognized as one of the “Best places to live in Britain.”

Frome Town F.C. is the largest sports organization in Frome, entertaining its followers since 1904. The club has recently climbed through the leagues to secure Southern League Premier (step 3) status. However, after being relegated two seasons ago, the club was a favorite for promotion when the COVID-19 pandemic ended the football season prematurely. Despite these challenges, the team remains a central part of the town’s sports scene.

The community of Frome has a strong interest in spectator sports, bolstered by the successes of local football, rugby, and cricket teams. Frome Town F.C. plays an active role in supporting the community, offering opportunities to independent charities and entities through donations, active support, and the use of their facilities. This commitment helps to foster a sense of unity and local pride within the town.
