Mousehole Association Football Club, nicknamed “The Seagulls,” is a non-league football club based in Paul, Cornwall.
Established in 1922, they currently compete in the Pitching In Southern Football League Division One South, which is part of the eighth tier of English football. The team calls Trungle Parc their home ground.
Thhe club was founded in September 1922, marking its centenary in the 2022/23 season. The club commemorated this milestone with a well-attended exhibition showcasing a vast collection of photographs, news items, and memorabilia, and a history book is also in progress. Significant moments in the club’s history include joining the senior ranks of Cornish football in 1948, entering the FA Amateur Cup in 1949, and achieving their only competitive silverware in 1976 by winning both the League Cup and Eveley Cup.
In 1960/61, Mousehole moved to Trungle Parc, which remains their home ground. The club purchased the freehold of the site in 1987 and celebrated with a friendly match against Manchester United. Noteworthy achievements include becoming runners-up in the Cornwall Combination League in 2006/07, qualifying for the South West Peninsula League Division One West, and later being promoted to the SWPL Premier Division in 2019 and the Western League Premier Division in 2021. The club narrowly missed promotion to the Southern League by four points in their first Western League season.
Mousehole’s Development Team won the Cornwall Junior Cup in 2018/19 and joined the newly-formed St Piran League in 2020/21, aligning with the club’s strategy of fostering young talent. The club also has a successful Women’s Team, a thriving Youth section with 13 teams, and participation in the FA Youth Cup for the first time in 2022/23. Recent improvements to Trungle Parc’s facilities have helped meet higher league standards, with the pitch regarded as one of the best in Cornwall.
