Chesham United

Formed from a merger of Chesham Town and Chesham Generals, the club joined the Spartan League in 1919 and achieved early success with league titles in 1921–22, 1922–23, and 1924–25. In 1928, league reorganization placed them in Division One West, but they soon moved to the Premier Division, becoming runners-up in 1929–30 and champions in 1932–33. During World War II, they played in the Great Western Combination and resumed post-war in the Spartan League before switching to the Corinthian League in 1947. Chesham reached notable milestones in the 1960s, including their first FA Cup first-round appearance in 1966–67 and the FA Amateur Cup final in 1967–68.

In 1973, Chesham moved to the Isthmian League Division Two, later renamed Division One, and made several FA Cup first-round appearances, with their best run in 1979–80 reaching the third round. Despite relegation to Division Two North in 1985–86, they quickly returned to Division One and then progressed to the Premier Division by winning Division One in 1990–91. They won the Premier Division in 1992–93 but were denied promotion due to ground standards. Subsequent relegations and promotions marked the 1990s, with a return to the Premier Division in 1996–97 and a series of fluctuating league positions into the 2000s.

Chesham faced relegation and promotions throughout the 2000s and 2010s, including a notable FA Cup run in 2015–16 where they reached the second round. The club was reorganized into the Premier Division South in 2017–18 and finished fifth in 2022–23, qualifying for the promotion playoffs but losing to Bracknell Town. They achieved success the following season by becoming Premier Division South champions.
