Wealdstone Football Club, nicknamed “The Stones,” is a non-league football club based in Ruislip, Hillingdon.
Established in 1899, they currently compete in the Vanarama National League, which is part of the fifth tier of English football. The team calls Grosvenor Vale their home ground.
Wealdstone Football Club’s origins trace back to the late 19th century with the formation of The Oaks and Cogswell & Harrison teams in 1887. The club, after several mergers and demergers, became known as Wealdstone FC. They first competed in the Willesden & District League, winning their first championship in 1904/05.
Wealdstone FC has a rich history of competing in various leagues and cup competitions, including memorable victories and challenging periods. Notable achievements include winning the FA Amateur Cup in 1966 and achieving the non-league “double” in 1984/85.
The club turned professional in 1971 and has experienced promotions, relegations, and financial challenges, including losing their home ground, Lower Mead. They have recently competed in the National League, achieving a 13th place finish in the 2022/23 season.
